Pinot Gris was harvested this week on August 26th. The harvest day started with dawn at a cool 17°C (63°F), and the pickers got the grapes off the vines by late morning. We had some chimera clusters and grapes this year, nicely demonstrating the genetic relationship between all Pinot grapes. That is any Pinot variety, Noir, Blanc or Gris, can arise spontaneously from any other Pinot variety.
